Who knew white gym socks could make such sweet (never stinky!) Penguin and Polar Bear Ornaments? Kathleen George, that’s who (of course!). I promised a week of Christmas crafts made with socks and gloves, and so today, here’s how to make these Polar Bear and Penguin Ornaments from socks. Read the list of materials closely, as I’ve listed separately the materials needed for just the Polar Bear or just the Penguin.

To make the Polar Bear & Penguin Sock Ornaments, you’ll need:

  • STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam: 4” egg & 1-½” ball
  • White sports sock
  • Inexpensive stretch glove in bright color (hat)
  • Thread to match socks
  • Half-round black beads, 7mm (eyes)
  • Thin cord (for hanging)
  • Low-temp glue gun
  • Thick, white craft glue
  • Optional: Powdered blush or pink chalk ; small sprig of artificial greens
