Little Mitten Snowmen welcome the winter

After the weather we’ve had this week, I don’t know how you’re feeling about winter . . . but these little Mitten Snowmen look pretty happy about it all. At least you can make this “Winter Welcome” sign while warm and toasty inside. Designer Paula Bales made this sign with a wood plaque, but if you’re a fan of pallet wood or barn wood, feel free to substitute. Or, you could skip the plaque all together and make a few pairs of Mitten Snowmen to hang on your Christmas tree.

To make a Winter Welcome Sign, you’ll need:

  • STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam: Four, 2-1/2” balls
  • Wood plaque, approximately 6” x 15” (or use barn wood or pallet wood)
  • Acrylic craft paints: Green, red, white
  • Black beads, 3/16″, eight (eyes)
  • Red beads or artificial berries, 1/4″, four (noses)
  • Permanent markers: Opaque white, 5mm; fine line black
